The Food Service is Booming!
The food service industry has a growth rate that is exceeded only by the travel industry.  The restaurant business in particular is growing at a pace that has produced a shortage of well trained personnel.

Our Students Have The Best Experiences...
The educational training you will receive in our culinary certificate program will provide you with the knowledge and expertise to work in the many sectors of the culinary industry.  Our culinary school equips students with the broad-based, hands-on experience needed to take advantage of the diverse and rewarding career opportunities in the culinary and hospitality markets. Because the Monterey Peninsula is a mecca for fine restaurants and world renowned chefs, students often say that working in this area is a dream job.

Sallie Mae Student Loans Available...
The SLM Financial Corporation, a Sallie Mae company, helps many students achieve their educational goals through the career and vocational loan division.  We all appreciate the hard work required to achieve professional goals.

Class Options
The Culinary Arts Program from the Culinary Center of Monterey provides students with the skills and techniques they must master from simple soups to classical French cuisine.    We teach appreciation of regional and international cooking and we explore the latest innovations to ultimately help students develop a unique style as a chef.  Students learn the theory of food safety and the importance of its everyday practice and will experience the realities of the restaurant business.

Our Style
Our classes are small with no more than twelve students to each instructor insuring the ideal student to teacher ratio.  This gives every student focused attention allowing for time and repetition in order to master the many required cooking techniques.  We offer students guided externships and training at unique Monterey culinary events such as the Monterey Food and Wine Festival, the Carmel Valley Tomato Fest and the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach to name a few.  Externships provide networking with the chef community as well as excellent culinary training.  We not only teach students how to get jobs but how to keep them and how to be successful in a changing and challenging industry.
